The True Healing Comes in Everyday - How do I integrate healing?
Sep 05, 2026Lion’s Gate Portal, 8 August 2026. I am sitting on my sofa, the afternoon sun streaming in my window and two dogs snoring at my feet. Idyllic, and yet I am needing to really work at consciously choosing in every moment to remain present.
“This shouldn’t be that hard” I hear you say, and one would think so, however this is one of the hardest things I have found to do when deeply working on building a relationship with myself. One that is founded on self love and respect and especially when life may be feeling out of alignment with where you thought it would be. The struggle is real.
So easy to distract myself, pretend I am resting, pretend I am taking time out with self care and yet I keep catching myself looking at my phone, jumping onto Instagram and scrolling. The next thing, 30 minutes has gone by and I don't need to lean into what is really going on for me. And that is, the uncomfortableness of continuing to integrate into my life the new relationship I am building with myself.
Two months ago I returned from an incredible trip to Peru, a retreat, where I was able to step into a container of self growth. This experience was incredible working with sacred sites and ceremonies. I was able to see what was getting in my way, holding me back in working towards my dreams and I was also able to experience a new way of living with myself, an expanded relationship with myself that was truly based on self love.
Emboldened from this experience I returned to Australia, my everyday life of working, paying the bills, family, carving out time for me, balancing chores and tasks with social activities and as life tends to do, quickly getting caught up in the demands and routine.
The challenge with this is the fact that, back home all our requirements remain the same and somehow we need to insert ourselves into this routine whilst holding on to the expansive I experience whilst on retreat.
Here is the question - How do I do this? How do I continue with life while ensuring I do not contract back into the smaller version of me that I was before I got a glimpse, a taste of the new me. My future self that I am bringing back into my current reality, to upgrade and build the life I want. It’s difficult and needs to be done on all levels, Mental, Emotional, Physical and Energetic points of existence.
How do I stop the energy leak, prevent contraction and reverting back to my old ways that I know no longer serve me. The answer, slowing, softly and kindly, with fully stepping into Self-awareness, Self-responsibility and Self-Acceptance.
I need to be vigilant with my self-awareness, catching myself in the moment, noticing when my old patterns and beliefs are showing up that I don’t like. This requires going inward, versus looking outward to blame others for my current circumstance or situation. Here is where Self-responsibility steps in, because I need to take full accountability of my part, my actions that have contributed to the current moment. By doing this I have to fully accept that I am now the master writer of my story and I get to choose what action I take next to change and achieve the outcomes I want in my life. When I get to this point I ask myself the following three guiding questions. My key intention is a reset, preparing me to act as the new me, consistently and sustainably.
Guiding Questions:
- What does balance look like for me now?
- How do I care for my energy, not just my time?
- What small actions support the version of me I’m stepping into?
By simply raising my level of commitment with Self-awareness, Self-responsibility and Self-Acceptance and creating a new space for me to learn and grow in the moment. By asking my three guiding questions, I am able to quickly re-write my story with a;
- Clearer mindset
- Grounded emotions
- Renewed energy, and
- Aligned action
In this space I am actively integrating all of my expansion and experiences on my retreat into my everyday life. Consciously, I am empowering myself to grow and build the life I want and you can too.
You don’t need to do it alone, I am here to guide you through your journey, avoiding the pitfalls and living your best life.
